Middlesex County Public Schools will hold an important drug awareness presentation, Silent No More, for students in grades 7 through 12 on Monday, November 4 during the school day. This impactful program is designed to educate students about the dangers of opioids and other harmful drugs while highlighting current drug trends. Silent No More features emotional testimonials from families affected by overdose, clips from the documentary Chasing the Dragon, and expert insights from a DEA agent on fentanyl and counterfeit drugs. The event also includes presentations from a federal prosecutor and Dr. Denise Lester, an addiction medicine specialist, along with a recovery speaker who will share their personal story of overcoming substance use disorder. A presentation for parents, guardians, and community members will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Clare Walker Middle School Auditorium on Monday, November 4. This event is part of the district’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness and promote prevention in the fight against the opioid crisis. Food will be served at 6:00 if you register for the event and select a sandwich. Please register for the event here and select a sandwich option here: bit.ly/MCPS1234SNM

Today, St. Clare Walker Middle School students experienced the SCW Reality Store. Students were given a career and a family size to take into consideration while shopping for monthly expenses. Volunteers from local community partners worked with students to make financial decisions to help them be successful. Students were shocked to see the costs of essential utilities that took away from their entertainment costs.
