Marjorie ChurchBourne from the American Heart Association visited all three schools to recognize students and staff for their outstanding participation in the Kids Heart Challenge and the American Heart Challenge.
Because every school in our division participated, MCPS earned the prestigious HEART of GOLD School District Award! 🏆❤️
We also want to recognize the dedicated staff members who serve as sponsors of each school’s Heart Association program. Their leadership and encouragement helped make this accomplishment possible. A special congratulations goes to Mattie Norris at MES for being the top fundraiser! 👏❤️

Thanks to the dedication of its members, the SCW TSA chapter earned prestigious honors this year, securing 4th place for the Lynn P. Barrier Outstanding Division Award and 6th place for the Arvid Van Dyke Outstanding School Award among all participating middle schools. Advisors Mr. Short and Mrs. Jedlinski expressed immense pride in the students' hard work, noting that the chapter is home to an exceptionally talented and motivated group of future leaders.
This week, the DCA generously provided every second-grade student with a swim bag to help transport towels and bathing suits to and from lessons beginning next week. These thoughtful contributions help make this exciting opportunity possible for our students.
We are grateful for community partners who invest in our children and provide meaningful, life-learning experiences that build confidence, safety skills, and lifelong memories. Thank you for supporting our students and our schools!
This week, our amazing staff enjoyed a full taco bar provided by Central Office Administration as a small token of appreciation for all they do each day for our students and schools.
And let’s be honest — one of the BEST parts of Taco Bar Day is not having to worry about packing a lunch before heading to school! 🙌 This crowd-pleasing tradition is one our staff looks forward to year after year, and seeing everyone gather together to enjoy good food and great company makes it even more special.

After months of rehearsals, set design, and behind-the-scenes preparation, their production of Fairytale of Misfits by Jeff Fluharty truly took the stage by storm. From the first line to the final bow, our students brought heart, humor, and incredible dedication to every moment.
Through their portrayal of these “misfit” characters, the cast reminded us all of an important message—our differences aren’t flaws, they’re our greatest strengths. 💫

Congratulations to Middlesex High School senior Katelin Reiner on being named the 2026 Middlesex County Kiwanis Teenager of the Year! 🎉
An honor student and dual enrollment participant, Katelin has truly made the most of her high school experience. Beyond the classroom, she shines through her service at Hermitage Baptist Church, supporting missions for the homeless, migrant camps, and local community efforts.
Katelin is also an entrepreneur and talented silversmith, owning Katelin’s Creations and showcasing her work at local markets—earning the Young Artist Award at Arts in the Middle in 2024! ✨ She also gives back through her involvement with the Upper Middlesex Fire Department Auxiliary, helping plan fundraising events.
Katelin’s dedication, creativity, and heart for service truly blew us away this year. We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see all you accomplish next! 💫
