TSA

This past Thursday through Sunday eighteen SCW students participated in the Technology Student Association state conference and competition called Technosphere located in Hampton, Virginia. Our students competed in eleven different event competitions and had a great experience. Before the conference started, the SCW TSA chapter of students were able to visit the Mariners' Museum and Park, the Virginia Air and Space Science Center, as well as the Hampton Air Power Park.

The following students were called to the stage at the Technosphere awards ceremony for their accomplishments.

In the CAD Foundation event, Kyle Curtis placed 2nd overall and Kaylee Kirsch was a top 10 finalist.

In the Dragster event, Kyla Blazek placed 1st, Claire Dise placed 2nd, and Kyle Curtis placed 3rd. Bentley Eppihimer, Zeke Koontz, and Dominic Synder were top ten finalists in the event.

In the Flight event, Kyla Blazek placed 3rd overall and Josh Huntley was a top ten finalist.

In the Problem Solving event, the team of Jayden Tang and Chase Watson were a top ten finalist.

In the Structure Engineering event, the team of Wyatt Davis and Claire Dise placed 2nd, the team of Kaylee Kirsch and Kyle Curtis placed 3rd, and the team of Xavier Morning and Bentley Eppihimer were a top ten finalist.

In the Video Game Design Event, the team of Josh Huntley, Jayden Tang, and Chase Watson were a top ten finalist.

Each year the Marshall O. Tetterton Award for outstanding Contributions to the Virginia Association of the Technology Student Association is awarded to one member. SCW TSA Advisor, Mr. Matthew Short, was honored with the award at this year's Technosphere conference. Mr. Short also won the Advisor Dragster Challenge.
Additionally, St. Clare Walker took 5th place for Outstanding Middle School and Middlesex County took 4th place for Outstanding School Division at Technosphere.
