Continue distinguished instruction designed to meet the needs of individual learners by engaging students in rigorous, meaningful, and authentic work, developing them into critical thinkers, responsible citizens, and strong communicators.

Middlesex School Board Receives National Honors - 2014 NSBA Magna Award Honorable Mention
The Middlesex County School Board has been selected for Honorable Mention in the 2014 Magna Awards program sponsored by the National School Boards Association’s American School Board Journal. The Magna Awards, supported by Sodexo, recognize school divisions across the country for outstanding programs that advance student learning and encourage community involvement in schools.  The NSBA Magna Awards program proudly recognized the Middlesex County Public Schools strategic plan “Navigation 2020” as a means for improving workforce development in our community.  Congratulations to our courageous School Board for their vision and direction.  This national recognition is another artifact that the Middlesex County Public Schools are building better Leaders, Citizens, and Leaders in the local and global economies of tomorrow.

MCPS wins $100,000  in September of 2013
Middlesex County Public Schools was one of only a few select school divisions to recieve matching grant funds from the state to improve school safety and secuity.  With the funds received from the state, MCPS will make safety improvements to Middlesex Elementary School and St. Clare Walker Middle School.  Future safety improvements are planned for Middlesex High School.

Magnifying class Designated in 2010 AND Re-Designated in 2013!

St. Clare Walker Middle School was designated as a 2010 School to Watch and was recently Re-Designated as a School to Watch in 2013. The Schools to Watch initiative was started by the National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform in 1999 to improve education for middle school students in the United States. 


St. Clare Walker has received the 2012 Board of Education Excellence Award for the 2nd year in a row.  The Board of Education Excellence Award is the second-tier honor in the Virginia Index of Performance program. These schools and divisions have met all state and federal accountability benchmarks for at least two consecutive years and have made significant progress toward goals for increased student achievement and expanded educational opportunities set by the board.
